    Research and Development Actuarial Analyst

    • Develop and document pricing bases.
    • Perform technical actuarial research that supports the Client Solutions and Pricing teams and raises the profile of RGA’s research capabilities.
    • Keep up-to-date about relevant data sources locally and internationally.
    • Keep up-to-date about relevant research done locally and internationally (includes internal international liaison with research teams).
    • Gather and collate industry and other data and statistics for analysis.
    • Proactively work with the Chief Medical Research Officer in driving relevant local research.
    • Analyse available data (including emerging internal and/or tender experience).
    • Research new products or coverages to be written by RGA.
    • Project manage internal research projects.
    • Have an up-to-date knowledge of market and products within the market.
    • Assist the research team with actuarial input into research and development activities.
    • Occasionally work with clients on product developments.
    • Data analytics projects – using statistical methods to analyse internal and external data; presenting results to clients
    • Initiatives to build technology solutions – assistance on internal projects building technology solutions

    Requirements

    • Nearly qualified Actuary.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in the insurance or reinsurance market (or alternatively appropriate academic research).
    • Strong computer literacy (Advanced Excel, Access, SQL, Visual Basic, R or Python)
    • A sound actuarial knowledge base with regards to pricing and product development.
    • Experience in the product development, pricing or product research of life insurance.
    • Risk product experience
    • Ability to work simultaneously on different projects
    • Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills
