Research Assistant -Agronomy Shared Services (Readvert) (Roodeplaat)
Performs routine greenhouse activities under supervision.
Assists in coordinating of work activities and supervises allocated HR resources, if applicable.
Adheres to work plans and provide verbal and written feedback on work activities to supervisor.
Utilises tools, implements and materials.
Adheres to financial administrative controls.
Provides research support, and other services.
Collects data under supervision.
Adheres to quality standards.
Requirements
Grade 12 (NQF 4) plus 3 years relevant experience in Agronomy OR Grade 10 (NFQ 2) plus 10 years relevant experience in Agronomy.
Relevant experience in cultivation and maintenance of vegetable crops, including land preparations, planting, weeding, harvesting, fertilizer applications and irrigation pipe set-up.
Relevant experience in greenhouse sanitation practices.
Relevant experience in growth media preparations and seedling/plantlet production.
Effective utilization of tools, farm implements and research materials.
Competence in driving a tractor will be an added advantage.
Competence in herbicide and pesticide applications will be an added advantage.
