Research Technician - Toxicology (Onderstepoort) at Agricultural Research Council

Description

• Manage small animal laboratory
• Provide technical assistance during in vivo experiments
• Supervise feeding and caretaking of animals
• Maintaining stocks of reagents and consumables
• Evaluation and interpretation of technical data generated
• Calibration and verification of equipment
• Improving/Implementing ISO 17025 quality requirements within the laboratory
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Head of Laboratory or Project Manager.

Requirements

• National Diploma/ BTech in Veterinary Technology or equivalent qualification
• At least three years’ experience in small animal husbandry
• Knowledge of in vivo studies especially small laboratory animals.
• Must be registered with SAVC
• Knowledge of and experience in poisonous plants and/or phytomedicine will be an advantage.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of Quality Management (ISO 17025).
