    Sales Executive

    Hotel Verde Cape Town Airport is seeking a vibrant and energetic Sales Executive to join their team.

    Requirement Overview:

    • Responsible to increase and grow the client base of the hotel through consistent solicitations and management of existing relationships to achieve growth, revenue and profitability of the hotel. 
    • Signing of hotel agreements with clients, the role requires that the occupancy and average daily rate of the hotel is maximised, whilst providing all the necessary information to help the clients make informed decisions on the purchase of blocks of rooms and production of special events. 
    • Overall sales responsibility includes rooms, meeting and conference rooms, special events, all catering outlets and any area that contributes to the overall profitability of the hotel and to represent and promote the brand at trade shows and expos.
    • Communicate on a daily basis with the Sales and Marketing Department at Verde Hotels, whilst maintaining clear reporting channels with the GM. Responsible for coordinating and planning all client site inspections to hotel.
    • Markets products by developing and implementing sales campaigns.
    • Track sales data, maintains promotional materials inventory, plans meetings in collaboration with operations team.
    • Attends trade shows, maintains databases, and prepares reports.
    • Implements sales roll-outs by assembling and analysing sales forecasts; preparing sales strategies at property level, plans, and objectives; planning and organising promotional presentations; and updating sales calendars.
    • Prepares monthly/weekly sales reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising sales data

    Sales Executive Skills & Competencies:

    • Competent in Outlook and proficiency in MS Excel, skilled in letter writing and communicating effectively.
    • Proficiency with Property Management Systems (preferably Protel).
    • Highly organised and approachable on all levels. 
    • Strategic planning, complex problem resolution and general management expertise.
    • Ability to positively influence people and collaborate partnerships.
    • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in hotel sales.
    • Well groomed, self motivated and target driven candidate is essential.
    • An added advantage would be existing relationships within the hospitality market.
    • Valid RSA Driver’s license.

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Grade 12, tertiary diploma in Sales & Marketing / PR and/or Hotel Management or proven track record of having received on-job training
    • Advanced proficiency in letter writing and communication
    • Advanced mathematical calculations to deal with reports and statistics
    • Excellent communication skills in the English language – verbal, written and in presentations
