SC Agro Sr Manager - Agro Digitization & Automation, AMESA at PepsiCo

Overview

The role will be reporting directly to AMESA SC VP rather than the Technical Services Director Additional responsibility have been added to the original scope by identifying in-field mechanization and automation opportunities to support better quality of potato, reduce manual interventions, optimize operational efficiency of the Agro Manpower for better Potato post harvest management and decision support for inspection and rejections for Potato quality.  

Responsibilities

• The role is the digitization transformation leader for AMESA Agro supply chain leading all new apps/tools, dashboards and score cards and drive already existing tools.
• The person is responsible of developing and updating digitization strategy for AMESA Agro supply chain and secure top management approvals and funds (CAPEX and OPEX)
• The role is the link between supply chain, IT and external servie providers for all technical services digitization initiatives
• This role is a key enabler to delivering AMESA volume and SC growth, Productivity & Pep+ agenda
• A critical part of the role scope is building out the Digitization road map for SC-Agro function across the Sector and particularly building Digitization capability
• This is a sector role and will have geographic coverage across Egypt, ME BU, Pakistan, South Africa, India, Bang’d , Ethiopia , Iraq & potential 4 new markets
•  Lead on the digital transformation agenda for the Agro supply chain in AMESA sector working with all sub functions on their respective digitization needs ensuring optimal efficiency of resources
• Explore, Evaluate, Adopt New cutting edge technologies in Precision/Decision Agriculture
• Focus on building resilient supply chains thru fast emerging technologies like disease prediction, yield forecasting, water sensing
• Prepare long term strategy for PepsiCo to continuously stay ahead in technology space for business advantage and sustainability
• Scout for right technology thru partnerships, start ups and prepare business model for adoption thru tie ups, buy outs
• Key technical resource for Potato storage design, quality in operations
• Design a storage quality monitoring program that will provide transparency to in country storage quality and costs
• Develop and implement reporting tools for KPIs, productivity, benchmarks with industry
• Collaborate with SC- partners within and outside PepsiCo for E2E digitization of Agro operations
• Develop data strategy, ensuring data security and data hygiene across markets to develop long term modellings for AMESA Agro-team, creating decision support system for Climate, disease and long term supply planning
• Extend technology initiatives to other important crops like Corn and Oats apart from Potatoes
• Design and implement end to end traceability across the Agro-Supply chain through various digital initiatives.
• Design the 3 years digitization road map for AMESA Agro Supply Chain in collaboration with the other TS sub functions to identify and picture the end in mind
• Champion new technologies within the sector & seek for cutting edge solutions that will support the SC agenda
• Secure leadership alignment on the roadmap and allocate budget for implementation (CAPEX and/or OPX)
• Manage the agro supply chain technologies development calendar in line with business set priorities and ensure efficient implementation and close management.
• Act as a project manager and a key focal point between supply Chain, IT and external service providers in any current or emerging digitization project for the sector.
• Integrate all existing technologies, apps, tools & digital solutions to create a comprehensive ecosystem to guide Agro SC team
• Monitor usage & effectiveness to continuously develop systems and intervene with deep dives that solve all bottle necks as they arise.
• Lead the digitization of all Agro SC score cards and dashboards digitization
• Partner with the global teams to adopt/develop the new digitized tools
• Work with the BU in setting their action plan and execution map and calculate requested budget
• Deploy training program & build the right capability and understanding for Digital tools
• Create knowledge centres within BU’s to drive the implementation of Digital tools
• Develop and implement long term strategy for Agro digitization aligned with the Global strategy for SC productivity and PEP+ goals
• Work with sustainability team to provide digital tools as a leverage to achieve PEP+ goals like Water Saving, GHG saving, etc.
• Partner with markets for Digitization benchmarking and strategize roadmap for technology adoption
• Develop annual training plans for all AMESA Markets based on the identified capability development needs & opportunities
• Ensure high competence of trainer’s team to the training tools/skills and provide all the required train the trainer needs to trainers.
• Validate digital implementation goals and report business benefits from digital tools.
