Secretary at Rhodes University

Main Objectives

• The incumbent is responsible for providing a high level efficient and effective general administrative and secretarial support service for the Confucius Institute at Rhodes University.
• The incumbent will work closely with both Confucius Institute Director to ensure the smooth running of all aspects of the Confucius Institute, including financial works related to the purchasing of items and various bookings.
• The incumbent is also required to liaise and interact with international colleagues and guests at a high level, to present a good impression of the Confucius Institute at Rhodes University.

The Requirements

Grade 12 plus approximately 6 months’ relevant experience where such experience includes: -

• Previous experience within an electronic administration environment which includes sound organisational and planning skills as well as time management skills.
• Previous experience in making bookings and purchasing items through a digital system, e.g., FinCore, Protea, etc.
• Previous experience in setting up and maintaining filing and administrative systems.
• A good command of the English Language.
