As a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer, you will help shape and evolve our global CI/CD platform. You will work closely with development teams to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable delivery pipelines, alongside infrastructure-as-code templates and reusable tooling that enable teams to ship software efficiently and consistently.
You will contribute to shared platform capabilities including Jenkins pipelines and shared libraries, Terraform and CloudFormation modules, Python-based tooling, and GitOps practices that support secure and observable deployments across AWS and other environments.
Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation.
Develop and support Jenkins shared libraries, pipeline templates, and reusable deployment patterns, and support the migration of legacy pipelines to standardised CI/CD approaches supported by reusable tools, clear documentation, and well-defined best practices.
Integrate automated security, quality, and compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines And Improve observability across delivery and runtime environments using tools such as Open Telemetry.
Build and support Python-based tooling, packages, and automation that improve platform capability and developer experience.
Use AI tools in day-to-day engineering workflows to improve efficiency, support delivery, and enhance ways of working.
Collaborate with application teams to design CI/CD flows that balance team needs with platform standards And Create and maintain onboarding guides, technical documentation, and best practices to support adoption and self-service.
Provide operational support for team-owned pipelines and platform components, including support during critical incidents or emergency situations where broader engineering assistance is needed.
Mentor team members and contribute to a collaborative culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
Hands-on experience working with AWS and infrastructure as code using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation across a range of environments.
Strong experience designing, building, and supporting CI/CD platforms, with practical expertise in Jenkins, including shared libraries, pipeline templates, reusable deployment patterns, and modernizing legacy pipelines.
Strong Python skills, including building reusable tooling, automation, or internal packages that improve platform capability and developer experience.
Good understanding of container and deployment practices, including Docker, ECR, GitOps, and blue/green or similar deployment strategies.
Experience integrating security, quality, and compliance controls into engineering workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience improving observability across delivery and runtime environments, ideally using Open Telemetry and related monitoring practices.
Strong troubleshooting and operational support experience, including diagnosing pipeline and platform issues and supporting critical incidents when needed.
Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across global teams and create clear technical guidance, onboarding material, and best practices.
Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
Practical experience using AI tools in daily engineering workflows to improve productivity and delivery outcomes, along with a willingness to learn, adapt, and keep developing new skills.
Experience with GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, particularly the ability to troubleshoot issues in Kubernetes-hosted environments and identify whether the root cause is likely to sit with the platform, the application, or another team.
