Senior Building Estimator - Construction Industry at RPO Recruitment

Job Description

• RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established building contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Building Estimator to join its Cape Town team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and competitive tender submissions for building projects.
• Analyse drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Compile Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules and tender reports.
• Identify project risks and opportunities during the tender process.
• Conduct site inspections and attend tender clarification meetings when required.
• Work closely with contracts managers, quantity surveyors and project teams to ensure accurate pricing.
• Assist with value engineering and cost-saving proposals.
• Ensure tenders are submitted within required deadlines.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of suppliers, subcontractors and current market rates.

Requirements:

• National Diploma in Building, BTech or BSc in Quantity Surveying or related qualification.
• Minimum 10 years' estimating experience with a reputable building contractor.
• Proven track record estimating large-scale building projects from tender stage through to award.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, pricing principles and contractual documentation.
• Proficient in CCS Candy and Microsoft Office (BuildSmart experience advantageous).
• Valid driver's licence.
