    Senior Compliance Specialist

    Duties Include, But Not Limited To

    • Reading regulation standard and reports, including documenting, communicating and implementation of regulations in line with business procedures
    • Disseminate written regulations and procedures related to compliance activities
    • Conduct analysis to determine and identify potential risks and v erify that all company and regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated
    • To communicate complex technical requirements in clear terms to various business units including any external clients
    • Assist in the performance of internal quality and regulatory compliance audits and the evaluation and monitoring of corrective actions
    • Analyze regulations to be able to recognize any differences, to help others to understand the significance
    • Coordinate with the organization to maintain compliance, based on changing regulations and laws
    • Strong ability to make recommendations for corrections, new updates and assist with implementation to reduce risks and maintain compliance
    • Keeping up to date with new and current legislation that could impact the business
    • Prepare internal and external reports to regulators, business stakeholders and legal teams
    • Identify potential risks that the business needs to be aware of that require follow-up or investigation
    • Assess product, compliance, or operational risks and develop risk management strategies
    • Lead and direct internal product teams and cross-functional teams on compliance-related issues based on regulatory standards and d irect the development or implementation of compliance-related policies and procedures throughout the organization.
    • Monitors the activities of regulators and the company to ensure it complies with, not only these external regulations, but also internal standards
    • Advising management, the business on updated regulations and policies
    • Contribute to policies and processes to assure business find new ways to be profitable while still maintaining standards that must be met for legal or commercial reasons.
    • Aid internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.
    • Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations, incidents and progress.
    • Report violations of compliance or regulatory standards to duly authorized enforcements as appropriate or required with continuous monitoring.
    • Keep informed regarding pendin g industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes.

    Essential Criteria

    • Tertiary degree in LLB, BComm Law Degree level qualification, or equivalent, ideally in Business Law Compliance, or Risk Management;
    • At least 3 years relevant work experience in Compliance
    • Sound understanding of regulatory compliance requirements
    • Knowledge of applicable regulations such as gambling law, responsible gambling, data protection and AML
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to self-manage for managing numerous priorities
    • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to independently resolve problems
    • Ability to interpret data
    • Excellent communication skills (i.e. verbal, written) with high level of attention to details
    • Ability to influence and make complicated subjects clear and presentable
    • Strong problem solving and critical thinking. Comfortable with ambiguity
       

    Desirable Criteria

    • Compliance Certifications advantageous
    • Compliance-related experience in gaming
    • An affinity and understanding of law
    • Comfortable with legalese
    • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and Adobe
    • Previous leadership experience
