THE JOB AT A GLANCE

• The Legal Graduate will support the legal team in providing sound legal advice, conducting legal research, reviewing contracts, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• This role offers an opportunity to gain practical exposure to corporate legal affairs, governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management within a dynamic business environment.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Assist with legal research and provide summaries of relevant legislation, regulations, and case law.
• Support the drafting, reviewing, and administration of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and governance requirements.
• Support the management of legal risks by identifying potential issues and recommending solutions.
• Assist with the preparation of legal opinions, reports, and presentations.
• Maintain legal records, document repositories, and contract databases.
• Support litigation management and liaise with external legal service providers where required.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to provide legal and compliance support.
• Participate in legal projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Stay informed about legislative and regulatory developments impacting the business.

Requirements

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

• A completed LLB degree or BA Law or Bcom Law.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of corporate law, contract law, regulatory compliance, and governance principles.

Proposed Minimum Entry Requirements:

To be eligible for the learnership, applicants should:

• Be a South African citizen.
• Be unemployed at the commencement of the programme.
• Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years (subject to the applicable INSETA funding requirements).
• Hold a Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
• Have English as a subject at Matric level.
• Be computer literate.
• Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Have an interest in the insurance and financial services industry.
• Be willing to commit to the full duration of the learnership programme.

Experience

• No prior work experience required.
