Senior Coverage Banker - Global Corporates at Absa

Role Summary:

• The candidate will be based in the Western Cape responsible for Global Corporates banking relationship.The purpose of this role is to provide Corporate and Investment Banking coverage and identify financing as well as transactional opportunities within a defined client base. This particular Coverage banker will look after the Global Corporates sector client base and solution for existing clients in the portfolio.

In this role you will:

• Own the primary relationship with the client by being the client’s main contact point for all corporate and investment banking needs;
• Establish and maintain strategic relationships with clients and co-ordinate client relationships and interaction with clients across the Bank.
• Assume primary responsibility for understanding the client’s business at a strategic, tactical and operational level;
• Create a network of alliances and business partners with product areas in the Bank.

The successful incumbent will ideally have a Postgraduate Degree in Commerce or Engineering as well as 5 years Corporate Banking and Client engagement experience, with preferred experience dealing with Global Corporates industries. Your negotiation skills, relationship building skills, corporate and investment banking product knowledge and credit knowledge are amongst the most important skills required to be successful in this role.
