Key Performance Area

Operation Excellence

• Maintaining uptime ensuring that all operations & systems are running smoothly and securely ensuring high availability & reliability. 
• Ensuring that the site's infrastructure is maintained & tested to ADC standards & OEM compliance measures. 
• Reliability Management - Ensure maintenance and functionality of the data centre's physical infrastructure, including power and cooling systems, backup generators, and environmental controls, to ensure uptime to customer contracts 

Customer Excellence 

• Ensuring customer satisfaction KPI’s for all areas under direct & matrix management is achieved across Security, Operations, IT, Facilities & Outsourcing 
• Regularly test and assess the readiness of the data center's disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Execute 100% compliance to change and incident management plan designed by service management function 

Facility Management

• Ensure that each site operates strictly in accordance with health and safety and security procedures, and the environment is maintained safely for all employees, contractors, customers and suppliers 
• Manage space utilization and capacity planning, considering factors like space, cooling, redundancy, scalability, and failover. 
• Oversee all the steps needed to improve PUE by taking action on the field and driving/proposing any project that could improve efficiency 

Financial Management

• Management and tracking of site operational capital and operating expenditure budgets, implement cost-saving measures and optimize operational expenses
• Responsibility for preparation of annual operational capital and operating expenditure budgets 
• Achievement of targeted CAPEX and OPEX savings 

Vendor Management

• Ensure 24x7 seamless operation of the Data Centre, and that such is staffed as per contractual requirements by competent individuals across all service providers
• Ensuring that the entire site is regularly inspected & all identified issues are actioned and resolved per contract KPI. 
• Evaluate the productivity and performance of the data center service providers, including response times, task completion, and training levels (Training/succession plan) to contractual KPI’s. 

Security Management

• Implement and maintain security measures to protect the data center against physical and cyber threats, including access control, surveillance, and intrusion detection systems
• Develop and enforce security protocols and access policies for personnel and visitors. 
• Ensure that the data center adheres to relevant industry regulations and standards. Monitor compliance with laws such as GDPR, HIPAA, or others applicable to ADC and customers

Requirements

Qualifications

• Diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering
• Certified Data Centre Facilities Operations Manager
• Certified Data Centre Professional / Certified Data Centre Specialist would be an added advantage

Experience

• 8 years experience in mission critical environment.  operational management
• 8 years experience with mission critical electrical / mechanical plant
• 8 years experience with MV / LV electrical systems, HVAC, Fire, BMS
• 8 years working experience in occupational health and safety
• 8 years working experience in Operational Data Centre (Colocation & Networks) 

Knowledge Areas

• Experience of providing a responsive, customer focused service excellence
• Extensive experience of working with large mission critical data centres
• Extensive experience with managing data centre teams
• Previous experience dealing with critical crisis situations
• Extensive knowledge of BCM/BCP
