Senior Exploration Geologist/ Data Integration-Lead Kazakhstan Projects at Ivanhoe Mines

• To provide insight and input from Ivanhoe Mines (Ivanhoe) to the Kazakhstan exploration alliance (KEAP) to ensure geological knowledge continuity across Ivanhoe’s exploration projects.
• To conduct  critical synthesis and analysis of extensive historical datasets (including soviet era data), incorporating new exploration findings to advance the evolving geological understanding of the Chu Sarysu sedimentary basin.
• To promote best practice guidelines aligned with Ivanhoe’s SOPs for exploration planning, diamond drilling, geological data acquisition and processing, and geological modelling. To contribute to future exploration discoveries on Ivanhoe Mines’ Kazakhstan JV Licenses.

Requirements:

• BSc Geology, BSc Hons Geology or related qualifications
• Post graduate degree in applied geology
• Valid Driver’s License
• Fluency in English
• 5 to 10 years of related industry experience in exploration and mining with extensive field-based exploration experience, with international work exposure
• Sedimentary Hosted Copper Experience working in the Central African Copper belt of either Zambia, DRC or Botswana
• Experience in exploration management and geological interpretation utilizing advanced
• geological exploration software packages
• Experience of working with structural, geotechnical and geophysics data acquisition and interpretation
• Geological data synthesis and interpretation using the Mineral Systems Analysis and Sequence Stratigraphy, strategic analysis, target generation
• Cross-functional collaboration and collaborative interpretation, advanced technical writing and oral presentation skills.
• Experience of developing and mentoring junior geologists and helping them realise their potential
• Regulatory awareness, cultural sensitivity and cross-cultural communication, local engagement, adaptability.
