2 years’ relevant experience on a nature reserve or similar environment
NQF level 5 Nature Conservation certificate will serve as an added advantage
Certification of competency in the operation of small plant and equipment;
Computer literate (MS Office, Microsoft Outlook)
Firefighting experience will be an added advantage
Basic knowledge of fauna and flora
Bilingual in two of three official languages of the Eastern and
Western Cape (Afrikaans/ English/ IsiXhosa) will serve as an advantage
Valid code B drivers’ license
A valid code 10 (C 1) will serve as an added advantage
Key Performance Areas
Coordinate the administrative functions and supervision of all field rangers within the nature reserves and conservation areas
Assists with the implementation of procedures to regulate specific work practices/ processes as dictated to in nature conservation legislation and bylaws
Renders assistance by coordinating, monitoring and controlling repair and maintenance work at specific sites
Perform specific tasks associated with the operation of vehicles, small plant and light equipment during general maintenance activities
Provide support and assist the biodiversity compliance and law enforcement team according to approved management and operational policy and plans
Undertake routine/ general tasks which contributes to the accomplishment of nature reserve’s objectives
