Senior Finance Reconciliations Manager (Location Agnostic) at MFS Africa

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Reconciliations Manager to oversee the wallet reconciliations across the business. The wallet reconciliation team operates as part of the Credit Management function within the Finance team. The scope of the reconciliations spans the entire organization, inclusive of Mobile Network Operators, Money Transfer Organizations, Enterprise clients as well as B.I.G (Banks, Institutions and Governments). This position is location agnostic, with the current team based in the UK, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Mauritius and South Africa. The Senior Reconciliations Manager will work closely with various stakeholders, including technology, business and support and involves managing a team of reconciliation team leaders and analysts.

The duties and responsibilities of the role will be as follows:

• Driving improvement in process and technology within the reconciliation function as we evolve our team and business

• Managing a team of reconciliation team leaders, providing guidance and direction to ensure the team works cohesively, processes work optimally, and reconciliations are performed accurately and timeously

• Managing relationships with key stakeholders to ensure all business objectives are met

• Driving the hiring process as we gear our team up for success

• Ensuring reconciliations are performed across multiple sources of information, on a transactional basis as well as for wallets

• Ensuring discrepancies are investigated, analyzed, raised with the relevant stakeholder and resolved timeously

• Initial reconciliation checks to be performed on a T+1 basis daily

• Ensuring tracking and reporting on key performance metrics is performed optimally

• Supporting and guiding the company values as well as overarching team and company strategy

Qualifications and experience

• At least 7 years of big data reconciliation experience, including experience in a finance role

• Prior management experience required

• Knowledge of book-keeping practices

• Graduate Degree in Accounting or related field

• Experience working remotely and in a globally dispersed team preferred

• Pan-African exposure required
