    Senior Financial Manager

    About the Job
    Role Purpose

    The Senior Financial Manager is responsible for the financial accounting and reporting for a portfolio and all aspects of prudent financial management including; enhancing systems, processes and ensuring best practices. The role incumbent is required to actively contribute towards the strategy and the longer term financial planning of the portfolio, ensuring integration and alignment across business areas. The role incumbent is responsible for the achievement of profitability and efficiencies in the portfolio. The role incumbent reviews and oversees the financial functions and controls in the portfolio, ensuring legal compliance and risk management across all activities. Business measurement and the implementation of improvements are essential to successful performance in the role. Also key to this role is the ability to establish and maintain sound working relationships with key stakeholders, peers and direct reports.
    Responsibilities

    • Consults with line managers to plan, control and report on financial activities and performance of the area
    • Ensures resourcing decisions are aligned to the Transformation Plan
    • Manages the business processes for area of responsibility
    • Participates in planned activities that are appropriate for own and staff development in area of responsibility
    • Implements performance management across the area of responsibility
    • Participates in projects in the capacity required
    • Delivers pricing models and participates in business decision making
    • Develops benchmarks and best practices to improve business performance
    • Manages the required resources to enable business performance and achieve business objectives
    • Builds and maintains effective relationships with stakeholders
    • Ensures the provision of adequate financial resources

    Qualifications and Experience 

    • Minimum Qualification - CA(SA) or equivalent qualification
    • Preferred Qualification - CA(SA) or equivalent qualification
    • Experience - 3 - 5 years related post article experience with 3 years managing a team of people
