    Senior Graphic Designer

    Job Purpose:

    The Senior Graphic Designer will support client brands by taking a creative lead in designing graphics for a wide variety of scenarios, including web, infographics, email, and social media. The Senior Designer will have a commitment to user-centricity and experience in design projects and be responsible for sign-off on all Brand artwork and projects, ensuring a high-standard of work is always maintained.  The Senior Designer supports the Brand Manager by helping to develop the brands, ensuring all artwork meets the desired standard, and ensuring timeous sign-off of work items to other departments.

    Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Support and develop the brands by designing marketing campaigns and collateral for application, such as banners and email collateral
    • Maintain the digital style guide
    • Manage, organise and keep marketing and multimedia assets up to date.
    • Graphic design – Support the brands by leading and designing marketing campaigns for application in a wide variety of scenarios, including web, infographics, email, social media and print.
    • Multimedia – Responsible for editing photography, digital imaging and publishing, animation and interactive media development to reach and engage diverse audiences.
    • Create rich media content, including multimedia, video textual, photographic, motion graphics, slideshow and animation.
    • Research best practice and design trends and ensure all team members adhere to the guidelines.
    • Quality Assurance – review and assist other designers with work items, ensuring the department meets the high-quality standard and that all work is on brand.
    • Implement on feedback from peers and management and provide feedback to other designers encouraging continuous improvement of their work.
    • Signing off on projects and Brand work items before these are handed over to the Retention Department.
    • Project discovery – Workshops, requirements gathering and analysis.

    Additional responsibilities may include:
    UI design

    • Executing design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
    • Working closely with UX Designers to focus on how the solution works.
    • Focus on what the solution will look like.
    • Design across devices and browsers.
    • Act as the user-advocate during the development process, subjecting early-stage designs to usability testing or expert review.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • 4+ years of experience as a Graphics Designer
    • Ability to work comfortably in Photoshop and produce a large amount of artwork.
    • Experience in Illustrator and various other Adobe CC programs.
    • Basic HTML is advantageous
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
    • A related design degree/diploma/certifications. In the absence of a degree/diploma, exceptional work experience will also be considered.
    • The years of experience and education would relate to the level of the role.
    • Proven UI design experience, including multimedia, graphic and print design. Strong proficiency and working knowledge on design and multimedia software, including the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and Sketch. As well as video editing software.
    • Multimedia experience that includes motion graphics using Adobe animation packages, HTML5, Javascript/Jquery and Flash Actionscript 3.
    • Have an excellent understanding of file formats, file transfers and optimizations.
    • Understanding of multi-platform layouts and standards and experience designing across devices.
    • Understanding of persuasion, emotion and trust design techniques.
    • Experience in agile environments, working with multi-disciplinary teams is a plus.
    • Understanding of User Experience methods is a plus, but not required. The Designer will be working very closely with UX Designers in the team, and will from time-to-time be asked to work on UX methods with the team.
