3 5 years’ relevant experience in a public library environment which includes supervisory experience
Ability to render a professional service in Afrikaans in this predominantly Afrikaans speaking community.
Fully conversant with all aspects of librarianship, in particular the principles of collection development, reference work, information retrieval and bibliographic knowledge
A wide reading background and knowledge of literature in general
Sound leadership and management abilities.
Knowledge of the means to establish user needs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

Computer literacy in MS applications
