    Senior Media Relations Specialist – B2B Tech/Finance/Business/Investor Relations

    Candidate requirements:

    • We are looking for an experienced media relations specialist with business, tech fintech, investor relations and business media relations experience to serve our clients with exceptional care and professionalism

    • Technology & innovation must be in your blood

    • Quality of output must be at your core and matching our clients strategic needs to media opportunities must be your sole focus

    • Experience across Africa would be advantageous

    • You will need to have lots of energy, be personally driven, results-focused, resourceful, able to deal with issues directly and willing to accept full responsibility

    Principal Job Responsibilities (Duties include, but are not limited to):

    • Media relations support to the client management team, including distribution of media releases, securing media interviews and news-jacking opportunities as well as managing expectations on turnaround times

    • This role will also include feature motivations writing, so writing skills are key

    • Management of agency and client media contact lists (in line with POPIA regulations) – ensuring media contacts are up to date

    • Media strategy and campaign development – participate in the development of client strategies

    • Development and management of strong media relationships with journalists from a range of publications in the B2B business and technology sectors.

    • Knowledge sharing with agency team members about media liaison best practices

    • Working closely with the team to ensure we make the most of all media opportunities – for example special days both local and national

    • Proactively source media opportunities for clients

    • Story conceptualisation – helping to brainstorm ideas to generate coverage for clients

    • Assisting account lead on the media section of Monthly reporting

    • Administration of accounts in regards to media spend etc (records, billing, etc.)

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Matric – essential

    • Relevant tertiary qualification. Degree essential – Journalism, Media, PR

    • Four+ years’ relevant working experience (preferably within a PR/Comms agency) – essential

    • Experience working in a press or media relations role with a solid understanding of the local media landscape – essential

    • Experience working with B2B clients, across multiple sectors – Existing tech and business media relations – critical
