Senior Ocean Freight Coordinator at Syndicate Personnel Specialists

Job Description:

 A leading multinational FMCG company has an exciting opportunity for a Shipping professional to manage and optimize their ocean freight for exports and be responsible for booking and tracking shipments as well as KPI’s and supplier management.

You will be required to liaise with shipping lines to secure space on vessels, complete physical bookings using online portals and ensure that sufficient containers are available for packing. Your planning and forecasting skills will be required when engaging and supporting logistics teams with ocean freight volume forecasting and delivery plans.

Other Key Accountabilities Include:

• Managing and tracking, rateable and reliable volume movements to port warehouses and customers from multiple sources to single destination.
• Reviewing stock on hand at port and in transit and liaising with exports sales teams for customer volume allocations and required delivery dates.
• Supporting with tendering and performance management of shipping lines, port warehouses and inspection companies.

A National Diploma or Degree in Maritime studies, Logistics, Supply Chain or equivalent coupled with at least 4 to 6 years ocean freight management experience is required. You must be proficient with INCOTERMS 2020 and have the ability to operate independently across different countries and cultures.
