What you'll do:
As a Senior Planning Engineer, your role will be pivotal in driving the success of our client's mining operations.
You will be responsible for overseeing the consistent application of Safety & Health principles across all discipline interactions.
Your expertise will be utilised in developing and optimising life-of-asset plans (LoAP), creating detailed mine designs, performing cost estimation and mine optimisation.
Your ability to review all aspects of the Ore Reserves from geology through to financial evaluation will be key in this role.
Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to foster a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that aligns with company values. Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles
Develop and optimise life-of-asset plans (LoAP), including scheduling for both open pit and underground operations Create detailed mine designs, including pit and stope designs, waste management strategies, and production schedules Perform cost estimation and mine optimisation to improve project economics and sustainability Complete all required work to act as a Competent Person, reviewing all aspects of the Ore Reserves from geology through to financial evaluation Implement a purpose-driven, high-performing culture that is aligned with company values Ensure compliance to internal and external regulatory, legislative and permitting requirements
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Planning Engineer role brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the mining industry. With a Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or another relevant discipline, you have spent 5-7 years honing your technical skills. You are proficient in using Deswik.CAD, Deswik.Sched, Deswik.LHS for long-term scheduling and optimisation, and have advanced skills in Minemax for strategic scheduling. Your expert skill in manipulating a geological resource model sets you apart from others. You have the ability to analyse complex data and translate it into practical mine plans and cost-effective solutions.
Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or other relevant discipline
5-7 years experience in the mining industry
Proficient skill in Deswik.CAD, Deswik.Sched, Deswik.LHS for long-term scheduling and optimization
Advanced skills in Minemax for strategic scheduling
Expert skill in manipulating a geological resource model
Ability to analyse complex data and translate it into practical mine plans and cost-effective solutions
