Responsibilities

• Perform, Review and Approve P&ID’s
• Perform, Review and Approve layout drawings and Plot plan reviews
• Perform, Review and Approve Chemical Datasheets and material Specifications
• Perform, Review and Approve simulation models
• Perform, Review and Approve valve design and prepare datasheets
• Perform, Review and Approve Technical reports
• Perform, Review and Approve basis of design specification development
• Conduct and Manage design reviews
• Perform, Review and Approve project standard specifications and design criteria
• Perform, Review and Approve design calculations sheets
• Perform, Review and Approve PFD’s: Process Flow Diagrams
• Perform, Review and Approve P&ID’s: Piping & Chemical Diagrams
• Perform, Review and Approve heat & material balance
• Perform, Review and Approve process equipment datasheets
• Perform, Review and Approve equipment & line lists
• Perform, Review and Approve material selection diagrams
• Perform, Review and Approve design conditions
• Perform, Review and Approve calculations (relief-valve, control-valve, depressurizing, line-sizing & pressure drop)
• Perform, Review and Approve cause & effect diagrams
• Facilitate Medium HAZOP to improve plant design safety
• Perform, Review and Approve DHSE plans, which arise from the use of hazardous materials
• Perform complex research of processes and systems used in the discipline to understand the Chemical design processes
• Conduct Site visitations to approve work carried out
• Collaborate with the drafting team to ensure all drawings and designs are in-line with project specifications.
• Liaising with various departments to successfully complete the Process Scope of Work
• Perform, Review and Approve technical bid analysis & tabulation which will be used to select appropriate vendors
• Provide solutions based on client requirements that are in line with the company’s business model
• Conduct and Review technical / feasibility studies and investigations.
• Compile and Review Process studies (Process consumer load list for CSA department)
• Lead Project progress, Interactive Planning Sessions and Kick-off meetings
• Prepare Man-hour estimates for Proposal
• Develop strong working relationships with key clients / contractors
• Prepare Process technical deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc.)
• Management of change orders and scope of works
• Assist in Resolving interdepartmental and client issues timeously, this includes seeking higher level authority if required
• BSC Chemical Engineering
• HAZOP

Experience

• 7-10 years
• EPC / EPCM Environment
• Petro Chemical, Oil & Gas or Similar Environment
• Intermediate Multi-Office Project Experience
• Intermediate Multi-Project Phase Experience

Knowledge

• Knowledge & experience with MS Office packages (create spreadsheets, registers, reports, presentations, workflows, etc.)
• Knowledge of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule.
• Specialist Knowledge of Codes of practice relevant to industry
• Extensive Knowledge of National and International Standards
• Extensive Knowledge of Process Engineering Design & Principles
• Proficient with Engineering tools and Software
• Knowledge and ability to perform Technical Evaluations for standard and non-standard (requisitioned) materials and construction contracts
