Senior Professional Nurse - Theatre at Mediclinic

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• To ensure a safe, positive patient experience by supporting the unit manager in the co-ordination of patient care and management of the unit

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Ensure comprehensive and safe patient care by mitigating risks and meeting set clinical quality standards
• Manage the patient experience
• Ensure optimal supply, retention and utilisation of staffing resources
• Empower and build staff competence through continuous assessment and development
• Assist with the effective management of operational expenses (including stock and capital)

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

• Degree/ Diploma in General Nursing
• Post graduate certificate/ diploma in speciality area

DESIRED EDUCATION:

• Midwifery

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• 2 to 3 years post qualification experience in Cath Lab and or Cardio thoracic surgery

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Healthcare management qualification will be advantageous
