Senior Professional Officer at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• A 3-year tertiary qualification, preferably an Advanced Diploma / B Tech or Degree in Finance.
• Computer Literacy: MS Office.
• 5-8 years relevant experience in financial modelling.
• 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in a public sector finance environment is advantageous.

Key Performance Areas

• Develop, maintain, monitor and provide advice for the Water and Sanitation tariff and financial Framework.
• Co-ordinate the administration of tariffs and related activities by setting of financial standards / benchmarks for measurement and ensuring sufficient revenue is generated for the operational needs of the Water and Sanitation Directorate.
• Communicate the changes in the tariffs / tariff structure to tariff groups to ensure the customer base is well informed on Water and Sanitation Directorate tariff matters.
• Draft complex reports to record research, information collection, share information, formulate conclusions, strategies and provide recommendations to management.
• Provide specialist advice and guidance to the Directorate/ Departments/ Branches.
• Facilitate monthly meetings with financial/ operational representatives in branches to discuss updates to tariffs.
• Facilitate tariff training/ awareness sessions.
• Perform general administrative duties for the Financial and Commercial Branch
