    Senior Sales Engineer

    Job Summary

    As a Sales Engineer, you will play a pivotal role alongside our Account Executive Team, spearheading Equinix's success and driving the company's growth. In this influential position, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor, providing guidance to customers, partners, and colleagues alike.

    Responsibilities

    Technical Consulting and Sales Support

    • Identify and assess customers' business needs, challenges, and technical requirements, aligning them with appropriate Equinix solutions
    • Leverage in-depth knowledge of Equinix products and services to effectively present and promote Equinix solutions
    • Analyze and evaluate moderate scope problems and situations using sound judgment and data-driven insights
    • Provide comprehensive support for small to mid-size customer meetings and facilitate tours

    Solution Design and Deliverables

    • Offer expert technical solution design support to assigned Sales account executives
    • Apply expertise and discretion within established practices and procedures to determine optimal solutions
    • Assist in the preparation of Request for Information/Proposal/Quote (RFI/P/Q) documents as requested by Sales Representatives
    • Develop and deliver all necessary customer-facing deliverables, occasionally seeking guidance from Global Technical Sales Management or peers

    Customer Service

    • Demonstrate professionalism and effectiveness in communicating with customers, both verbally and in writing
    • Provide pre-sales support for all Equinix products and services
    • Deliver high-quality technical support during sales presentations, customer meetings, and trade shows

    Business and Market Expertise:

    • Exhibit a solid understanding of Equinix's data center, network, and cloud products and services
    • Maintain basic industry knowledge and stay updated with the competitive landscape

    Collaboration / Communication

    • Support sales teams in acquiring new business and fostering existing customer relationships
    • Collaborate with internal teams (Global Technical Sales, Customer Success, Operations, Implementation, etc.) to ensure seamless project transitions from pre-sales to post-sales
    • Actively contribute to cultivating a positive team culture
    • Demonstrate proficient presentation skills

    Team Leadership

    • Provides feedback on various business opportunities and issues

    Qualifications

    • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience
    • Good experience in the functional domains of Enterprise IT Systems, Network, Datacentre, including implementation and technical support preferred
    • Fluent in English is a must
    • Good experience of Solutions Selling in a commercial pre-sales position preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related engineering discipline and a minimum of 5 years of related experience preferred
    • Advanced industry certifications (i.e. Cisco, VMware, MS, AWS) preferred
