Senior Specialist: Cloud Infrastructure Architect at Altron Bytes Systems Integration

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for technical and architectural engagements/projects surrounding Cloud that adhere to best practices whilst being a trusted advisor and thought leader to all stakeholders.  This includes, being the technical liaison between technical and non-technical teams.  As a Senior Cloud Solution Architect, the candidate will be required to establish and grow the cloud migration factory business for Altron in the AWS, GCP and Huawei Cloud via Migration, Hybrid Cloud and Cloud-Native initiatives/projects.  It will require the candidate to provide guidance across the business, defining and enhancing the Altron cloud strategy as well driving the cloud journey of our customers. In so doing, this will ensure the best possible cloud journey whilst owning the respective technical engagements to build our business, capability and enablement across various practices in Altron – Complementing our offerings to our clients.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Technical and architectural engagements/projects surrounding AWS
• Trusted advisor and thought leader to all stakeholders
• Guide, mentor and train Cloud Engineers on varying seniority levels
• Establish and grow Cloud Migration Factory for Altron in the AWS Cloud via Migration, Hybrid Cloud and Cloud-Native initiatives/projects
• Provide guidance across the business, defining and enhancing the Altron cloud strategy as well driving the cloud journey of our customers
• Create, develop and maintain Cloud migration patterns for maximum reuse

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering
• AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification (minimum)
• AWS professional level Certification (preferred)

Professional Qualifications

• Google Cloud Associate Engineer certification (optional)
• Google Cloud Professional Architect certification (optional)
• Azure Fundamentals certification (optional)
• Huawei HCIP-Cloud Service Solutions Architect certification (optional)

Years of Experience:

• 10+ Years’ Working Experience in the IT industry (Implementation and Consulting)
• 5+ Years’ Experience as a Solution Architect
• 5+ Years’ Experience in Enterprise IT Applications, Database Architecture, Integration and Infrastructure across multiple technologies
• 2+ Years’ Experience as an AWS Cloud Architect - Designing/Architecting Solutions for AWS Cloud

Other requirements:

• Experience in Enterprise Patterns (Event Model, Data Driven Design etc.)
• Solid Understanding of IT infrastructure (storage, compute and networking), Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture and Reference Architecture
• Exposure to TOGAF 9 & ITIL frameworks
• Experience in Hybrid Architectures and Cloud Migration
• Proven track record of successful business & project outcomes
• Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
• Strong Analytical Thinking
• Strong Leadership Abilities with Knowledge Sharing and Upskilling Team Members
• Hands on Development/Engineering Experience (Java, Python, Terraform, ansible, CloudFormation, Security, Networks, Load Balancing, Proxies, DNS, CDN, Caching, Databases, etc.)
