    Senior Specialist Data Analytics (Real-Time Data Enablement)

    Purpose of the Position:

    • To support all Data Analytics requirements gathered by RDE on behalf of EBS and the wider organization.

    Key Performance Objectives

    Operational Delivery:

    • Oversee and manage Data-Analytics deliverables, i.e. design, build, test, go-live and support
    • Create a long-term Data Analytics roadmap aligned with the RDE roadmap (technical, financial, regulatory, operational, etc.)
    • Architectural design, development and implementation of a consolidated Data- Science/Analytics platform
    • Advise RDE/EBS-management on best practices regarding data Science/Analytics
    • Analyse business requirements, technical abilities and delivery of proposed solution design
    • Analyse existing systems, its functioning related to the data it generates and advise RDE management on best practices
    • Continuously Architect, Design, Develop and testing of Data Analytics processes
    • Maintain technical documentation (data flow diagrams, technical specifications, etc.) and test completion reports
    • Identify and log risks and issues to minimize project/business impact
    • Training and support of end-users
    • Ensure that the Data Analytics platform is in line with best practices across the industry/market.

    Talent Management:

    • Manage team members to ensure effective delivery of business unit objectives
    • Establish a high performing team by embedding formal performance development, informal coaching and ensuring that each team member’s KPIs have been contracted
    • Encourage frequent knowledge sharing between team members
    • Determine and analyse development needs for the team and ensure that identified training requirements are budgeted for and executed
    • Interview and recruit new members of the team, including determining appropriate compensation levels with input from HR
    • Create effective workforce and recruitment demand plans to ensure that current and future business requirements can be met
    • Review and provide input into the yearly update of the department’s organisation structure and role descriptions to ensure that they are fit for purpose and contain all the accountabilities of each team member
    • Approve leave requests for team members and create a leave plan to ensure adequate coverage
    • When required, initiate disciplinary processes for team members calling on support from HR when required
    • Resolve grievances of team members and escalate where needed
    • Address poor performance of any team member through formal Performance processes and third party performance management
    • Motivate team members and ensure that their efforts are recognised

    Qualifications

    • A relevant 3-year Degree or Equivalent
    • Certified Microsoft Professional would be advantageous

    Experience

    • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience as Data Analytics expert/manager
    • 5-10 years SQL working experience and knowledge
    • Systems development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology
    • 2-5 years Python or R Experience would be highly advantageous
    • 2-5 years Machine Learning and Deep Learning models would be highly advantageous
    • Dashboarding experience would be advantageous in PowerBI, Tableau or equivalent tools

    Technical Competencies  

    • Methodologies as well as technical expertise in the fields of statistics, data analysis, data modelling and data enrichment
    •  In depth understanding of Benchmarking, Predictive Analytics, Social Media Analytics, Web Analytics, Geolocation Analysis, Ad-Hoc Analysis, Trend Indicators, Profit Analysis, In-Memory Analysis, Statistic Analytics and Data Mining
