    Senior Specialist Gaming

    Role Purpose

    The Senior Specialist: Gaming and Sales is based within Vodacom Financial Services.

     

    Role purpose: 
    Part of Vodacom’s strategic imperative is to shift to new opportunities beyond its traditional business, which includes digital content and service experiences that drive new ways for Vodacom to create communities and deliver value to those customers through powerful customer experience.  
    The Senior Specialist: Gaming is responsible for achieving the required levels of service/product delivery, marketing and customer adoption, revenue uplift and customer experience within the Gaming portfolio of Digital Services.
    The Senior Specialist: Gaming is required to conceptualise, execute and manage the Gaming product/service portfolio, content strategy, strategic and tactical marketing, and customer experience. The Senior Specialist: Gaming is required to build relationships above and beyond all key stakeholders, including content partners, technical and marketing teams. The Senior Specialist: Gaming is required to conceptualise, own and drive the achievement of the product/service roadmap with all relevant technical and project management teams including the respective content partners who assist Vodacom in bringing these services to life.
     

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Responsible for researching and understanding the evolving trends, benchmarks and developments in the consumer digital services market, with a particular focus on Gaming and related mobile content services.
    Leveraging both internal and external research and guidance to apply relevant enhancements to the Gaming products and services delivered through Vodacom’s various content partners.
    Research, source and make contact with potential content partners in Gaming that will be appropriate to drive the commercial requirements of Vodacom, or provide some other form of value be it strategic, network substantiation, reputational value, etc.
    Develop and manage the commercial and contracting framework for Gaming partners in conjunction with the Ecosystems team, aligning with their capabilities to ensure maximum commercial opportunity and leverage.
    Alongside the EHOD – Ecosystems and the relevant stakeholders in other business areas, contribute to and agree overall strategy and approach for Gaming portfolio across all its segments and strategic focus areas.
    Actively track, manage and increase usage and revenue.
    Manage and execute the initiatives aimed at leveraging Vodacom’s assets which can be applied for commercial gain in respect of Gaming opportunities.
    Proactively identify and manage technology, legal, risk compliance and regulatory impacts in collaboration with the relevant business stakeholders.
    Manage and execute on objectives through collaboration and management of third party partners, services and stakeholders who contribute to and affect the Gaming portfolio.
    Actively participate in the product development process, including research, concept development, briefing with technical teams, compilation of product and user specifications, coordinating the creation of financial feasibility studies, managing product and marketing roadmaps, participation in project ceremonies and processes,  participation and respond to usability testing, go-to-market preparation and other steps as applicable.
    Interface with marketing operations teams to implement and manage all go-to-market activities.
    Ensure Gaming correctly fits and supports Vodacom’s bigger strategic projects and initiatives.

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • Minimum of an Bachelor’s Degree in business, media or marketing areas (essential)
    • 3-4 years relevant experience in the gaming, media, content or telecommunications industry (essential)
    • 3-4 years experience with Digital Service and Digital product or account management (essential)
    • Product Development skills (essential)


    The base location for this role is,Midrand, Vodacom Campus
