Senior System Analyst at Sage

 The Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for engaging with colleagues across Sage to provide system design, configuration and implementation support for IT requests and projects to meet the functional goals, objectives and needs of the business throughout the systems landscape functional processes to meet the strategic needs of the business. The Senior Systems Analyst will be responsible for conducting analysis, system design, configuration, evaluation, modification, testing, release, maintenance and integration of Sage's enterprise wide systems across their functional area including the development of functional specs, design documents and functional testing documents as needed to meet the goals and objectives of the business working closely with the Systems Analyst Manager and wider IT.

• Responsible for driving the creation of functional design outputs that provide the clarity for estimating and planning while working within the solution designers and project managers
• Works alongside solution architectures to identify new ideas and improvements to ensure solutions are aligned to Sage’s strategy and objectives
• Accountable for continuous improvement of knowledge of system configuration frameworks, methodologies and ways of working within the IT Systems Analysis function
• Supports IT Systems Analysis Manager in delivering the vision for the team
• Collaborates with and works alongside with development, UX, Security and Architecture teams throughout design, development and testing activities to ensure Systems process requirements are understood and incorporated into solutions
• Provides proactive, effective communication with business and IT stakeholders on regional and global initiatives and understands stakeholder roles, motivation and level of involvement
• Recognizes operational risks and issues across the business, highlights them and take and/or recommends actions to mitigate them along with the project leadership
• Mentors, drives change, help others understand how to enable/support the change and overcome obstacles, and minimize organizational resistance to change
• Continuously builds knowledge of business in class solutions, champions technology innovation and continuous improvement in technology that will enable change and/or improvement of existing business operations to feed into the solution design
• Owns personal development and seek out opportunities for further development
• At least 2-3 years’ experience working on a project team to ensure that Systems Analysis artefacts aligned with the overarching delivery methodology
• At least 2-3 years’ experience in configuring, implementing and supporting business solutions on enterprise-wide business systems and developing solutions on complex business problems
• Comfortable and easily works within a Waterfall and/or Agile (e.g. Scrum) environment
• Advance experience in developing and documenting IT Systems Analysis artefacts with a customer focus considering current and future needs
• Understands the importance of building relationships with stakeholder and can communicate complex ideas, requirements and solutions in a consistent, clear and effective way
• Has breadth and depth of Systems process, operational and functional knowledge, considered an expert in one or more areas of the business to guide the business and team on the best approach to extract and identify business needs
• Commercially astute – able to understand commercial drivers
• Applies an analytical approach to problem solving, can apply (new) concepts and experience to understand and resolve underlying issues
• Attentive to detail, through in applying quality standards and understands best practices
• Experience integrating products using cloud-based API tools.
• Experience in using Agile analysis tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence)
• Experience in IT related development and deployments – CRM, Digital, ERP or Data
• Exposure in dealing with senior stakeholders, IT teams and 3rd party vendors
• Innovative and creative in their approach to solving problems and actively seeks opportunities to share knowledge and collaborate
• Experience with Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications.
• Understanding of Business processes and industry best practices.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithmic complexity, and proper design principles
• Relevant Degree
• Certifications (Salesforce, Zuora, Sage Enterprise Management, Sage People) (preferred)
• Systems Modelling / BPM / UML / Project Management Qualifications (preferred)
• Process improvement qualification preferred but not essential (preferred)
• Agile Qualification (preferred)
