Senior Toolmaker at Hire Resolve

Job Description

• A leading plastics and packaging company is looking for an experienced Senior Toolmaker with strong experience in plastic injection moulding, CNC programming, mould repair and maintenance, and new mould manufacturing to join their team in Johannesburg for a 3 month contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and manufacturing high-quality plastic injection moulds while ensuring optimal tooling performance within a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manufacture new plastic injection moulds
• Conduct mould repairs and preventative maintenance on plastic injection moulds
• Program and operate 3-axis and 4-axis CNC machines
• Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Interpret and create CAD drawings and designs
• Troubleshoot tooling and hot runner system issues
• Ensure tooling quality, accuracy, and production efficiency
• Work with CNC machine controllers including Siemens and Fanuc
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime

Requirements:

• Certified Trade Tested Toolmaker
• Proven experience within the plastic injection moulding industry
• Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Experience with mould repair and maintenance
• Experience manufacturing new plastic injection moulds
• CNC programming experience on 3-axis and/or 4-axis CNC machines
• Proficient in CAD drawing and design
• Experience working with hot runner systems and related electrical components
• Strong knowledge of Edgecam and/or Mastercam
• Experience with Siemens and Fanuc CNC controllers
• Available for a 3-month contract opportunity
