Qualifications and experience:

• National Diploma in Horticulture/Landscaping/Arboriculture/Forestry/Agriculture
• Appropriate driver’s licence.
• Two to three years’ relevant experience.

Job purpose:

• Drafting short to medium-term plans, managing and coordinating the performance of diverse tasks/activities associated with the effective and efficient operation and maintenance of major parks facilities, public open spaces, playgrounds, cemeteries, and road reserves to ensure compliance with national and local nature and environment conservation legislation for the effective and efficient preservation of all public (municipal) trees in a designated area by the implementation of special landscaping projects, arrangements for civic decorations, providing staff training and development, managing existing and new contracted service providers, providing input into the operating and capital budget and performing general administrative tasks associated with the functionality.
• As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
