    Services Artisan

    ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES

    Artisans study assembly specifications to work out the most efficient order of processes required for a given project. They also take accurate measurements of small and large metal components to make sure they will fit together properly. Understanding machine drawings and specifications helps a fitter and turner identify any potential problems early in the production process.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

    • Conduct preventative maintenance, scheduled machinery services and conduct repairs in case of breakdowns on machinery and equipment to ensure maximum machine efficiency and reliability.

    • Apply safety procedures and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with EHS standards to prevent personal injury and damage to machinery and equipment.

    • Conduct housekeeping practices [cleaning and organising] within prescribed areas and on machinery and equipment to ensure a clean and safe working environment.

    • Complete ISO and other relevant documentation [machinery and equipment] to ensure effective record keeping.

    • Repair and maintain machinery and equipment, and assist where required, in order to ensure the optimal efficiency of the services at the required specifications to the factory.

    • Apply trouble shooting and problem-solving techniques to enhance machine efficiency and reliability.

    • Installation, commissioning and rigging of pipework and machinery as required by the factory.

    ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Trade Qualification (Certificate) required

    • Qualified Fitter & Turner

    • Experience in the field (minimum 2 years)

    • Previous experience in any of the following disciplines will serve as an advantage: steam production; gas boilers; compressed air and vacuum distribution systems; HVAC; water systems; facilities maintenance and repairs

    • English knowledge (both verbal and written) is required

    • Trouble shooting and problem-solving skills

    • Interpersonal skills

    • Ability to work with minimum supervision
