Chief Engineer Prof Security of Supply at Eskom Communications

Key Responsibilities

• Technical management of the Outage function
• Medium and long term outage plan (prioritisation, risk identification and mitigation).
• Liaising with System Operating Control (SOC), Network Management Centres (NMC’s), Generation, Distribution and NTCSA Grids with regards to outage related matters, to ensure resolution on any problems.
• System corridor information update.
• Operational documentation.
• NTCSA/Distribution, Metro and Koeberg Operating Agreements
• Grid Code compliance

Minimum requirements

Qualification(s): 

• BSc /B Eng. in Electrical Engineering at NQF 8 with 480 credits 

Professional Registration Body: 

• Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as professional engineer

Related Minimum Experience:

• 7 Years’ Plant technical experience
