    Setter (Injection Moulding)

    • A manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Machine Setter for their facility in Port Elizabeth. (Shift work).
    • To coordinate production activities, optimise machine performance, and ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer requirements are consistently achieved.

    Requirements

    • South African Citizen.
    • Minimum 3 years' experience in:
    • Injection moulding machine setting and process optimisation.
    • Plastics manufacturing.
    • Shift supervision within a production environment.
    • Plastic Federation Injection Machine Setting Certificate (NQF Level 6 / Level 4 Certificate).
    • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to train and mentor production personnel.
    • Excellent planning, organisational, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and supervise production activities during the shift.
    • Lead and support production staff to ensure efficient operations.
    • Set up and optimise injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment.
    • Monitor production performance, including cycle times, scrap rates, and productivity.
    • Ensure products are manufactured according to production schedules and customer specifications.
    • Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), Health & Safety regulations, and company procedures.
    • Verify that production work instructions are followed at all times.
    • Investigate non-conforming products with the Quality team and implement corrective actions.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality and production efficiency.
    • Maintain high housekeeping standards throughout the production area.
    • Assist with stores or material handling activities when required.
    • Monitor and achieve departmental KPI targets.
    • Provide support and stand in for other setters when required.
    • Be available to work overtime and respond to after-hours call-outs when necessary.

    Working Environment

    • High-pressure production environment.
    • Overtime and after-hours call-outs may be required.
    • Exposure to lead products, cleaning agents, solvents, and alcohol-based chemicals.
    • Regular interaction with production management, warehouse personnel, quality teams, and machine operators.
