    Settlement Team Lead

    Job Description

    Derivative Confirmation Services is a cross-asset class function responsible for ensuring that all Interest Rate, Credit, Equity, Commodity , Africa and Structured Notes confirmations are affirmed and confirmed in an efficient and cost effective manner. The department supports a broad range of operational services across the OTC trade lifecycle including lifecycle management, affirmation and confirmation reconciliation as well as strategic product support. Responsible for managing all Derivative Confirmation and Lifecycle functions performed onsite, across the different Derivative asset classes

    • Resolving of queries relating to trade economics with Front office / PCG/ MO and Clients within a 24hr period, this involves acting as the first point of contact for escalations. Use of extensive knowledge of derivatives and the function as a whole to ensure exceptional client service is provided to the firm’s highest value , or sensitive clients.
    • To ensure the confirmations process across the team is up to date and confirmations are sent out no later than specified timelines.
    • Ensure accuracy in the drafting and confirming process.
    • Ensure the clients are getting the best client service from the team.
    • Ensure all issues are addressed with relevant areas to ensure clients are satisfied with the service from the team.
    • Ensure all reporting is done on a daily basis throughout the team

    Education and Qualification

    • 6-10 years’ experience in a banking operations

    Knowledge and Skills

    •  Strong communication skills, fluent in English
    •  Strong understanding of the end to end process in the Confirmations area.
    •  Strong Risk and Control focus
    •  Strong understanding of relevant and up-to-date technical knowledge, applications and techniques.
    •  Strong understanding of the changing regulatory environment and its impact on

    Operations.

    •  Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external clients.
    •  Insight into external market developments and initiatives
    •  Highly numerate with analytical problem solving ability.
    •  Results driven.
    •  Commitment and loyalty to the brand.
    •  Self Starter / Ambitious
    •  Attention to detail

    Education

    • Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
