SHEQ Officer - Umbogintwini at AECI Limited

Job Description    

• Maintain and Audit of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 Management systems.
• Ensure effective QUESH Management
• To ensure compliance to all SHE Legislation requirements.
• Investigate all incident / accidents; near misses and follow up.
• Update, draft and implementation of system procedures and work instructions.
• Updating all SHEQ trackers.
• Plan, conduct internal and external audits.
• Conduct SHEQ risk assessment process and identify potential hazards in the workplace.
• Ensure effective emergency preparedness plan is in place
• Coordinate and conduct Internal SHEQ Training program.
• Work effectively with others as a member of a team.
• Evaluate opportunities to improve the company’s overall SHEQ System.
• Ensure an Effective Induction Program is set up for employees and contractors
• Implement a medical surveillance program in line with AECI Requirements
• Participate in the company’s Wellness program
• Management and Control of PPE - order / issue etc.
• Improve existing control measures to control risks – Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality.
• Conduct inspections on QUESH emergency equipment as per PM’s

Qualifications & Experience    

• Matric with Maths and Science.
• Must have relevant SHEQ qualifications eg. Dip / Deg SHE Management
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a chemical industry plant environment, preferably production related.
• Minimum 3 years’ SHEQ Management experience.
• Experience in ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 Management Systems
• Excellent knowledge of SHE legislation and best practice.
• Excellent investigation capability and report writing and presentation skills.
• SAP experience will be an advantage
• Be computer literate – MS Office package especially Excel.
