Shop Fitter - Parktown at Orion Security

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a skilled Shop Fitter to join our team and assist in the planning, installation, and maintenance of retail shop displays and fixtures and other installation projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in carpentry, joinery, and construction, with an eye for detail and a passion for creating visually appealing retail environments.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with management and clients to plan and execute shop fit-out and tenant installation projects.
• Measure and cut materials, assemble fixtures, and install displays according to blueprints and specifications.
• Ensure that all fixtures and displays are securely installed and meet safety standards.
• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on existing shop fixtures and displays.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure materials and equipment needed for projects.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• Tertiary / Vocational training or apprenticeship in carpentry, cabinet making or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Shop Fitter, Carpenter, or similar role.
• Strong carpentry and joinery skills, with the ability to work with a variety of materials.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in a retail environment is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and own tools are preferred.
