    Shopper Strategy Lead - 3 positions

    Job Description

    • Lead the development and implementation of the Shopper Marketing Plan, including the development of POS material.
    • Source multi market best practice for SSA, customize and implement.
    • Work with the Insights function to develop the research agenda, strengthening shopper insights capability across all channel and major customers.
    • Develop customer centric selling priority calendar of initiatives to deliver AOP, with specific focus on category development.
    • Work with Insights team to deliver compelling category ad shopper strategies, enabling a ‘step change’ in engagement with key customers – across all channels
    • Create category vision and translate into customer/channel strategy
    • Give direction on price pack architecture (with revenue management) and promotional levers to national accounts team to enable ROI, achievement of AOP and category growth
    • Participate in shopper research projects. Analyze data with insights and transfer into customer opportunities
    • Develop Traditional Trade Shopper and Category strategy
    • Analyze and synthesize data to create compelling category and shopper strategies for key customer
    • Define category opportunities and tactics to win with key customers and grow category and customer profitability
    • Evaluate progress on campaigns, recommend course correct
    • Lead account plan formulation process, with Functional leads. Manage process from insights to opportunity identification and development of tactics.
    • Comprehensive understanding of the customer landscape
    • Build an indispensable partnership with senior customer contacts by identifying category & shopper opportunities.
    • Lead the development of customer and channel specific category plans in order to optimize both category growth for major customers.
    • Understanding of competitor and other categories to leverage best practice within the market place
    • Engage with senior customer stakeholders in the delivery of category and shopper plan
    • Ensure insights led / shopper centric thinking in all customer, category and commercial initiatives
    • Identify growth opportunities in line with customer strategy and category vision
    • Collaborate with commercialization team and customize per market for Innovation.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    Key Skills/ Experience Required

    • Grade 12 minimum with Tertiary Education in related business field
    • Minimum 6-8 yrs FMCG sales/marketing/ Category development
    • Experience working across African countries
    • Strong bias towards data driven decisions
    • Effective written and oral communication skills
    • Effective interpersonal skills
