Job Description: SAP Senior Basis and Technical Architect

• Qualified candidates will work on SAP® implementations and support projects. This position’s primary function is to provide applications and solutions consulting to the customer and project team by understanding, analysing and translating those technical and basis requirements to ensure an optimal SAP environment.
• Seeking highly motivated professionals with excellent personal and communication skills and strong experience with SAP to work as a Senior SAP Basis and Technical Architect.

Responsibilities:

• Strong hands-on implementation and support experience working with latest releases for SAP ECC, CRM BI, HANA and BW, Solution Manager with SQL server on Windows clustered environment.
• Essential to be capable of deriving an SAP Roadmap for the IT Landscape and provide technical inputs on Best Practices and Recommendations for IT Transformation and Digital Enablement.
• Lead technical resource, who works closely with IT and key business thought leaders to ensure delivery of robust solution throughout the organisation.
• Define and drive a current and future state architectural BASIS roadmap that ensures that all initiatives are aligned with the goals of the business and projects are completed with the highest level of quality.
• Strong knowledge of multi system landscape architecture and integration aspects between heterogeneous system technologies (Global focus desired), in the areas of build and support for ECC, Ariba, Webmethods, HCM, BW and HANA.
• SAP Netweaver administration and technical core tasks including SAP software installation, upgrade, applying Support Packages, patches and fixes, installation of add-on software components, workload analysis, etc.
• Supports the technical implementation of the SAP system landscape as it evolves (i.e., development, test, staging and production) with In-depth knowledge in the SAP technical areas.
• Design, implement, monitor and optimise SAP landscapes and dependent technologies. Monitors and tunes system performance and workload. Manage and performs system refreshes; participates in the scheduling of refreshes as requested.
• Identifies needed system corrections and enhancements and recommends changes. Applies advanced system management principles, concepts and techniques.
• Evaluates and recommends new hardware, software, tools and utilities within the SAP environment. Understanding the customer’s current and future requirements and developing relevant solutions. Ensuring agreed solutions are implemented correctly and on time.
• Provides subject matter expertise in technical and process discussions.
• HANA Administration and S/4 on HANA administration is a must.
• Must have Production Support Experience.
• Must have implemented and supported SAP S/4 2020.
• Must have experience with handling on premise as well as on cloud hosting.
• Must have Exposure to supporting large SAP database implementations and optimisation thereof.
• Must have experience in Disaster Recovery, High Availability and Archiving Solutions.
• Team player with good inter personal, communication, problem solving and facilitation skills.
• Committed individual who is self-motivated, deadline driven and results orientated.
• Must be able to manage across project and support Technical Basis teams.
• Strong SAP experience in analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering SAP Technical Architecture Solutions on public and private cloud.
• Good to have exceptional skills in Data Collection, Analysis and Representation.
• Essential to have experience in SAP Cloud Solutions Technical Presales with Real-Life Solutions involving SAP Hardware Sizing and SAP Landscape Designing.
• Understanding of Architecting S4 implementations and conversions.
• Selecting the appropriate Public/Private cloud service based on compute, data, or security requirements.
• Identifying appropriate use of Public/Private cloud operational best practices.
• Must have strong knowledge on migrating and operating SAP on Azure Cloud Infrastructure with a Platform as a Service model.
• Experience in S/4HANA Conversion (1709, 1809, 1909), OS/DB Migration, Installation, Patching, Upgrade, System Copy.
• Experience in HA and DR setup for HANA system and other databases.
• Define and drive the realization of best in class enterprise BASIS architecture implementation and support.
• Supports the technical implementation of the SAP system landscape as it evolves (i.e., development, test, staging and production) with In-depth knowledge in the SAP technical areas.
• Design, implement, monitor and optimise SAP landscapes and dependent technologies. Monitors and tunes system performance and workload. Manage and performs system refreshes; participates in the scheduling of refreshes as requested.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or applicable work experience would be advantageous.
• Experience Required :10-15 years.

Minimum Requirements:

• Prior SAP implementation and Basis/Technical Architecture experience required. Project references must be verifiable.
• Lead SAP Basis and Technical Architect role for at least ten (10) full life-cycle implementations including all phases (blueprint, configuration, training, cut-over and post go-live support).
• SAP S/4 relevant experience (not just ECC).

Essential Skills:
Business Knowledge:

• Good familiarity with business processes relating to mining / automotive/ oil industry.

IT Knowledge:

• Understanding of SAP Best Practices.
• Past Basis configuration and customising experience as per the best practice of SAP, with SAP S/4 experience preferred.
• Must be familiar with Fiori and its technical requirements and optimisation.
• Baseline understanding of full SAP ERP and related SAP software.
• Experience / Certification in SAP S4 Basis is beneficial.
• Experience in leading Basis teams.
• Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience of IT architecture in the SAP context.
• Several years of professional experience as a SAP Basis and Technical architect (SAP-HANA, SAP-ERP, ABAP platform, SAP-HANA, Fiori)
• Strong analytical skills and ability to learn independently and have enthusiasm to teach others in a technical and organisational topic.
• Demonstrate leadership in general: ability to identify priorities, be decisive, ability to lead strategic topics on a global basis, convince others
