Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification as a Social Worker that allows for registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professionals (SACSSP) as a Social Worker. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as Social Worker.
Experience:
Grade 1: None after registration.
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience in social work after registration as a Social Worker with the SACSSP.
Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate experience in social work after registration as a Social Worker with the SACSSP.
Grade 4: A minimum of 30 years appropriate experience in social work after registration as a social worker with the SACSSP. Inherent requirement of the job: Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence. Willingness to travel in the Sub-district/ District to consult clients, attend and conduct meetings and training sessions.
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Ability to render a clinical social work practise as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in a Specialist Acute Mental Health Care setting. Sound knowledge and skills in psycho-social assessment, family and individual counselling skills. Knowledge of relevant statutory processes. Computer literacy. Good verbal and written communication skills
