The Site Reliability Engineering team is focused on improving the reliability of the Kurtosys App platform. We are looking for experienced software engineers who enjoy working on technical challenges, embrace changes, advocate automation and providing positive experience to customers. This position offers the opportunity to become proficient in the entire platform architecture, associated technologies (see below) and operations. Our architecture uses AWS managed services, is API driven, and is predominantly written in Node.js.
WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO:
Measure and identify deficiencies in the system pro-actively. Make proposals for overcoming such deficiencies and see through to implementation of solutions.
Work within various engineering teams to assist with platform feature where when extra slack is needed.
Work with various technology teams to improve the centralised log management system. Configure the system with reports and dashboards for regular monitoring of services.
Assist with P1 incident resolution (business hours only). Co-ordinate communication and troubleshooting tasks between support and engineering teams.
Conduct blame-free post P1 incident reviews. Document findings and follow up on action based on learnings.
NON-NEGOTIABLES:
Strong problem solving and debugging skills.
Software development experience in JavaScript or other languages such as C# or Java.
Experience in writing SQL statements and using RDBMS databases.
Some understanding of modern cloud infrastructure services.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Experience in building web applications, web services and back end features.
Experience in writing unit and integration tests.
Experience in using build and deployment tools.
Knowledge of CDN’s including caching, security features and edge computing, ideally with Cloudflare
AWS services including Lambda, ECS Fargate, EC2, RDS, S3, Cloudwatch.
