    Machine Shop Assistant - Cape Town

    RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • To assist with housekeeping in both Machine Shop and Roll assembly Section:
    • Cleaning of bearings and chock blocks
    • Cleaning of the floor in Roll Assembly section
    • Cleaning and lubricating of Milling and Lathe Machines
    • Storing and cleaning of coupling, bearings and side covers
    • Descaling of Chock Blocks, Top Plates and Tackle boxes
    • Proper removal of shavings from machines and placed in designated area ( Rocker Bin)
    • To ensure tools are always clean and placed in its correct place of storage
    • Assisting the Manager / Supervisor with Ad hoc duties
    • Adhere to health and safety regulations and instructions and advise the responsible person whenever there are risks identified

    QUALIFYING REQUIREMENTS

    • A minimum Grade 12 certificate

    Semi Skilled Boilermaker

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Housekeeping: Ensuring the cleanliness of all work stations and areas surrounding them
    • Assisting the Manager / Supervisor with Ad hoc duties
    • Assist with general work tasks and upkeep of structural machines
    • Adhere to health and safety regulations and instructions and advise the responsible person whenever there are risks identified
    • Check and Report on any deviations/faults that may occur

    Semi Skilled Welder

    Job description:

    • The Boilershop department currently has a vacancy for a hardworking, dedicated Semi-skilled Welder to join their team. The successful candidate must be able to perform general welding on structures, other equipment and machinery. The successful candidate must repair existing components while working accurately and neatly; this applies to repairs and maintenance performed in the workshop and onsite. The successful candidate works in conjunction with the Boilermakers and must be proficient in all forms of welding. The successful candidate must furthermore ensure that their work space is kept neat and tidy (housekeeping) in the workshop and onsite.

    Qualifying Criteria:

    • Matric – Preferred, but not compulsory
    • Relevant welding courses
    • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in a similar environment (Steel and or Industrial environment)
    • Must have experience in pipe welding, Copper, Brazing and Silver solder and Cast steel
    • Must be proficient in Mig, Tig Gas and SMAW
    • Extensive knowledge of power tools
    • Enjoys technical activities
    • Knowledge of Health and Safety Rules
    • Ability to work under challenging conditions
    • Excellent communication skills

    Junior Electrical Engineer - Cape Town

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Perform Detailed Electrical Designs on MV and LV Systems
    • Perform Detailed Electrical Designs on Control and instrumentation systems

    National Security Manager - Cape Town

    RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW) ARE TO ENSURE THAT:

    • Theft and fraud are prevented and/or halted where they may occur, no matter how small or large.
    • The Group adopts best practice with regards to security procedures and protocols, which must be implemented, optimised and followed.
    • Risks are ascertained via a proper and regular auditing process, and that risk management is implemented.
    • All incident investigations are completed in a proper fashion.
    • The security department reacts and participates quickly to incidents, and ensures that any impact is minimised.
    • The Group stays abreast of new technologies to address and mitigate risk.
    • Security-related expenses are managed, controlled and monitored.
    • The Group liaises with SAPS and other third party security companies where required.
    • Security forums, briefings and awareness sessions are organised to inform line management, employees, clients and stakeholders about security.
    • Monthly and other reports are sent.
    • All administrative processes are handled.
    • The above requires managing and leading a significantly large team of inspectors, supervisors, security officers, administrators and others.
    • The above requires liaising with the management and staff of the wider Group to ensure compliance and to ensure that all security practices tie into the Group’s wider operations.

    QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE:

    • PSIRA registered Grade A is compulsory.
    • At least 8 years of senior managerial experience.
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing/logistics/industrial environment is advantageous.
    • Tertiary qualification in security management or equivalent.
    • Proficient level of MS office suite.
    • Risk identification & analysis background.
    • CCTV monitoring experience.
    • Knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Act and other relevant legislation.
    • Knowledge of OHSA.
    • Fluent in English and preferably Afrikaans.

    Junior Project Manager - Epping

    RESPONSIBILITIES (NOT LIMITED TO THE BELOW)

    • Plan, prepare and manage all project resources.
    • Supervise on-site team.
    • Ensure project targets are met.
    • Perform site inspections daily.

    • PPE – Ensure that all PPE regulations are adhered to before work begins.
    • Adheres to Health & Safety Regulations in terms of the Safety file for the department.

    QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE

    • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
    • 3-5 years supervisory experience
    • 2-3 Project Management experience
    • Code 10 Drivers' License with PDP is essential.
    • Knowledge of maintenance planning
    • Previous demolition experience is advantageous.
    • Knowledge of production planning.
    • Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
    • Willingness to work overtime and night shift as and when required.
    • Previous experience in a physically demanding mining or production working environment would be advantageous.

    Casting Controller (Meltshop)

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Control the operational procedures of the Casting Machine.
    • Manage quality standards in accordance with set targets and guidelines
    • Control activities of the senior operators sensibly and ensure that shift runs smoothly.
    • Communicate general incidents (delays, failures, breakouts, etc.) via the correct channels.

    Technical Manager - Cape Town

    Job description:

    • The Engineering Division is responsible for the effective repair and preventative maintenance of the company’s recycling plant and equipment. The role requires assistance with the management of the engineering division for the Cape Town region.
    • One of the key functions of this role is to evaluate and establish best practice in repair methods and also to provide cost analysis on repair services and manufactured components used. In addition, the Engineering Division manages all development and expansion projects across the Group.
    • The Technical Manager would assist with directing 10 separate artisan departments, comprising of more than 150 employees. Each such department is managed by its own Manager.
    • External services providers used are independent companies which supplement this in-house team, when specialized skill sets or additional resources as required. They report to the engineering team as described below and would be involved in managing relationships and services.
    • The Engineering Division consists of a team of Engineers, led by the Engineering Divisional Directors, who are also Mechanical Engineers. The successful applicant will join this team and report directly to the Senior Engineering Manager.

    Qualifying Criteria:

    • Qualified Mechanical Engineer or Mechatronics Engineer. All appropriate University or Technikon qualifications will be acceptable.
    • 5 to 10 years relevant working experience in a heavy industrial environment as a practicing engineer is essential.
    • Atleast 5 years spent in a management role in an operations environment is essential.
    • Diagnostic skills and logical thinking is essential. The ability to think on your feet will be an advantage, even when working under pressure.
