    South Africa Sales

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    The Institutional Client Group (ICG) manages the Bank's relationships with institutional investors and corporate clients across the full product spectrum. ICG combines the global capabilities of Deutsche Bank with regional expertise on five continents.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Proactively support and drive sales coverage of all FIC products to South Africa-based clients, across liquid and illiquid products.
    • Interacting with Trading and relevant stakeholders on the FIC product suite, leveraging the success of the cash and solutions franchise to help increase our market share
    • Partnering with FIC Trading and Structuring, as well as other Sales colleagues within the team and within product to originate transactions across the client franchise.
    • Responsible for a portfolio of clients with a focus on service excellence, origination and cross sell.
    • Actively looking for cross-sell opportunities with South Africa clients and working with the relevant Sales team to execute.
    • Supporting the South Africa Sales desk on active internal and sales initiatives
    • Supporting the onboarding of new client relationships / funds, working with Case Management, Credit, and Legal

    SKILLS/COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

    • Strong understanding of the Fixed Income market and developing skills in structured products
    • Strong local market knowledge
    • A sense of how macroeconomic developments, be they slow moving or instantaneous, could be beneficial for the largest sophisticated investors
    • Knowledge of covering clients in the broadest sense – does not need to be institutional
    • Entrepreneurial skills to prioritize resources to maximize outcome and value for client
    • Comfortable in a dynamic and fast paced environment
    • Excellent quantitative skills and have the ability to interpret business and economic data and assess the implications of both with regards to client requirements
    • Driven and dedicated to help the team succeed
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

    EDUCATIONAL:

    • Bachelor’s Degree a prerequisite
    • Post graduate degree advantageous
