Job Description
Strategic input

• Support the development of charging systems (Core Solutions) strategy
• Support  identification of key changes to charging  systems in the future from technological, commercial, business and consumer behaviour perspectives and determine how these could impact charging systems (Core Solutions) plans and strategies
• Develop proof of concept  deliverables to help determine viability of target charging systems (Core Solutions) architecture for the next 3-5 years 

Planning & Delivery

• Support  the development of the 3 year and 1 year plans for all charging systems (Core Solutions) such as Banking Systems, IMS and IBS taking into account growth of customer numbers and demand. 
• Obtain requirements from business and analyse them
• Ensure planned charging  systems are delivered on time to meet operational requirements
• Design  charging systems (Core Solutions) such that they meet business requirements and align to the plan above
• Support development of policies on the deployment of charging systems (Core Solutions) equipment
• Develop detailed charging systems (Core Solutions) design ensuring impact on existing systems and processes is managed
• Implement systems such that compliance of all charging systems (Core Solutions) with all regulatory, commercial and business requirements (e.g. Security and integrity of banking systems) is ensured
• Create system documentation (design, implementation, test script, test logs and production support) that is sufficiently detailed and up to date to ensure business continuity and prevent over-reliance on a few individuals
• Request funding and issue request for proposal (RfP) to vendor
• Verify bill of material (based on RfP in design phase) and confirm order of equipment and services
• Specify testing requirements and ensure testing 
• Perform final verification of the desired configuration prior to integration to align expected and actual configuration
• Support deployment of deliverables into production environment

Communication and co-ordination

• Provide full support in coordination between charging systems (Core Solutions) plans and the plans from service delivery and other Network group departments (Radio, Core & IP, Transmission etc.) 
• Liaise with marketing when needed regarding product development with respect to charging systems (Core Solutions) capabilities and requirements
• Build the understanding of existing and emerging charging systems (Core Solutions) technologies and capabilities across the business
• Provide MTN Group with subject matter expertise related to charging systems (Core Solutions)

Financial Management

• Support identification of key investment requirements for charging systems (Core Solutions)
• Support definition of 1-year budget
• Identify and eliminate non-contributory expenditures

Qualifications
Education

• 3 year Degree / Diploma Electronic Engineering or Computer Science

Experience: 

• At least 3 years in a Telecommunication Company planning environment with at least 3 years experience in GSM Payment systems
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a area of specialisation; with experience in supervising others
• Experience working in a medium organization
