Specialist: Network Optimisation at Vodafone Global Enterprise

Role Purpose:

• To drive and implement strategic network optimisation activities and special projects aimed to improve network quality through the optimisation of Radio Access Network (RAN). Functional tasks include activities geared to constantly improve efficiencies of Radio Access Technologies (RAT); GSM, WCDMA, LTE, 5G , and other radio access systems, for example WiFi, Small Cells solution etc.) through modern and best practices.

Your responsibilities will include:

Key accountabilities and decision ownership: 

• Continuous review of RAN network strategies, using RAN parameters, features and best practices aimed at improving RAN effectiveness and efficiencies.
• Pro-actively analyse and recommend capacity dimensioning requirements on RAN, UTRAN, eRAN and any other radio oriented employed solutions.
• Pro-actively analyse and recommend capacity dimensioning requirements on RAN, UTRAN, eRAN and any other radio oriented employed solutions
• Pro-actively analyse and recommend capacity dimensioning requirements on RAN, UTRAN, eRAN and any other radio oriented employed solutions
• Give cross functional support to regions in terms of in-depth network analysis, accelerate fault resolution, consistent Hardware corrections and fixes (e.g. hardware configuration problems), and swift.

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

• Minimum of 3 years relevant GSM and UMTS experience (inclusive of 1-2 years LTE experience) is essential
• Minimum of 3 years working experience within Radio Planning and Optimisation (Essential)
• Experience with UMTS/CDMA technologies would be advantageous (Desirable)
• Telecommunications (GSM & UTRAN) courses essential   

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• 3 year degree/diploma in electronic or telecommunication, equivalent or higher.
