What you'll do:
As a Specialist Structural Geologist, you will provide practical support to identify risks, create geological models to improve resource definition and planning effectiveness, and advance structural geology capabilities across the business.
Your role will involve integrating multivariate datasets to create robust and defensible structural interpretations at various scales.
You will also be responsible for generating and updating 3D geological and structural models using advanced techniques.
Your expertise will be crucial in evaluating structural uncertainty, communicating associated risks, and ensuring integration between geological interpretation, geotechnical characterization, and gas drainage models.
Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles Develop and implement a strategy for structural geology Integrate multivariate datasets to create robust structural interpretations
Generate and update 3D geological and structural models using advanced techniques Evaluate structural uncertainty and communicate associated risks Lead the adoption and testing of new geoscience data capture technologies
Plan and execute structural geology activities Conduct structural geology training for operations and projects
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Specialist Structural Geologist position brings a wealth of knowledge in Geosciences along with at least four years of relevant experience. You have proven experience instructural analysis in different tectonic settings including extensional, inversion, and compressional regimes. Your ability to synthesize multivariate data sets to produce integrated interpretations at various scales sets you apart from others. You are knowledgeable about complex geological information across a range of technical abilities and experience levels. Experience in geomechanical and/or numerical modelling techniques would be highly desirable.
Honours Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Geosciences
Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in structural analysis in different tectonic settings
Ability to synthesize multivariate data sets to produce integrated interpretations at various scales
Knowledge about complex geological information across a range of technical abilities and experience levels
Experience in geomechanical and/or numerical modelling techniques (desired)
Expertise with appropriate geological software tools
