Minimum educational qualification: Qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council as Staff Nurse. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the SANC as a Staff Nurse.
Experience:
Grade 1: none,
Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ appropriate experience in nursing after registration as Staff Nurse with SANC,
Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years appropriate /recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Staff Nurse with SANC. Inherent requirement of the job: Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, after-hours, night duty and weekend cover for nursing. Willingness to rotate within the hospital in different wards. Ability to work under pressure.
Competencies (knowledge/skills): Basic communication skills (both written and verbally). Ability to function as part of a team. Good human relations. The ability to render nursing care of an acceptable and safe standard.
DUTIES :
Development and implementation of basic patient care plans. Provide basic clinical nursing care. Effective utilization of physical and financial resources. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development.
