Unpacking and / or off-loading of containers with seed by operating a forklift truck with a valid forklift operator’s license.
Assist with the unpacking of containers with seed in cases where the operation of a forklift truck is not a requirement.
Assist with accurate checking and counting of stock received for cleaning and / or down packing.
Assist with seed sampling for testing purposes (when requested to do so).
Ensure that written instructions regarding seed cleaning and / or packing is clearly understood.
Complete relevant fields on the Job Card before each seed lot is cleaned and / or packed down.
Ensure that all procedures as per checklists are followed accurately.
Operate the equipment (i.e. horizontal form fill and packing machines, seed de-fuzzing, grading, treating and drying machines) used for this purpose, as per instructions.
Ensure that seed is picked, cleaned and / or packed down and transferred / despatched according to prescribed norms and standards.
Assist with quality control on packaging material i.e. labels, bags, cartons, packets, etc. in conjuction with the Supervisor.
Assist with loading and / or off-loading of consignments of seed / packaging material / discarded seed lots for destruction.
Assist with the preparation and finalization (correct stacking and shrink wrapping of seed onto pallets) of all orders when required to do so.
Assist with the transferring of cleaned and packed down seed lots to the warehouses.
