Stock Controller (AN 55) at Werkie

Key Responsibilities:

• Inventory Management: Ensure that sufficient stock levels of all products are maintained at all times on the system (Sage Evolution).
• Monitor supplier lead times and place orders accordingly to prevent stock shortages.
• Plan imported stock deliveries to ensure new stock arrives before current stock runs out.
• Conduct weekly stock floor checks and compare physical stock with system quantities.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
• Coordinate quarterly full stock takes involving all relevant staff members.
• Purchasing & Supplier Management: Obtain quotations regularly to ensure the best possible pricing for products.
• Ensure correct cost calculations and pricing are captured accurately in the system.
• Work closely with warehouse staff to verify correct stock and quantities received from suppliers.
• Ensure stock rotation is maintained (older stock issued before newer stock).
• Ensure the warehouse and stock areas remain clean, organized, and correctly labeled.
• Communication & Coordination: Work closely with sales representatives and office staff to ensure correct stock ordering and availability.
• Follow up on special manufacturing orders and notify relevant staff once stock arrives to arrange delivery.
• Perform additional tasks or responsibilities as required by management.

Job Requirements:

• National Senior Certificate (Matric).
• Strong experience working with MS Excel.
• Experience with Pastel and Sage Evolution is essential.
• Own transport and a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a Stock Controller or in a similar inventory management role.
• Strong planning, organizational, and inventory management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams.
