    Stock Controller & Ward Secretary - SSISA Rehabilitation Hospital

    CRITICAL OUTPUTS

    • Oversee procurement, receipt, verification, storage, replenishment, and invoicing of ethical, surgical, and other hospital stock in compliance with medicine regulations.
    • Maintain accurate records of patient admissions and discharges on AS400 and Healthware systems.
    • Ensure correct allocation of patients to beds and maintain bed and diet lists.
    • Manage stock levels, ensuring availability for patient care while controlling administrative ward stock and stationery.
    • Monitor stock usage, place and receive orders, inspect packaging quality, and maintain expiry date records.
    • Secure stock storage areas and maintain data integrity.
    • Assist with booking and confirming agency staff while handling queries from agencies.
    • Arrange patient transport and assist with X-rays and other diagnostic investigations.
    • Order and maintain records of Nimbus mattresses.
    • Prepare and update billing sheets, print patient stickers, and complete nursing documentation.
    • Reconcile supplier statements and apply LEAN principles to minimize stock surplus.
    • Support hospital management and nursing staff with efficient administrative functions.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Grade 12 qualification (tertiary qualification advantageous).
    • 3–4 years of experience as a Stock Controller (healthcare industry experience preferred).
    • Full proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    • Strong attention to detail, planning, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service orientation.
    • Own transport and valid driver’s license (required for emergency stock collection).
    • Ability to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment with occasional overtime.
